Today, leaders from the affordable housing industry will gather to recognize four award recipients for their significant contributions in creating and revitalizing affordable homes and communities at the New York Housing Conference (NYHC) and the National Housing Conference (NHC) 39th Annual Awards Program, one of the largest gatherings of housing professionals in the nation. The nearly 1,300 government officials and affordable housing leaders in attendance at the Hilton New York in Manhattan will also come together to support the ongoing recovery process following Superstorm Sandy.
?The Awards Program will provide an excellent forum for leaders in the housing industry to assemble and address the challenges facing New Yorkers as we recover from Superstorm Sandy,? said Judy Calogero, CEO of the New York Housing Conference. ?Everyone in attendance has been working hard to find solutions to help communities impacted by Sandy. At the same time, the Program will give us an opportunity to thank the honorees for driving innovation in affordable housing by building fruitful relationships, implementing new programs, and building solid communities through revitalization and construction throughout the year.?
?NHC is proud to stand with the New York Housing Conference to recognize those who have made significant contributions for housing in the last year,? said Chris Estes, National Housing Conference President and CEO. ?We are committed to being a vital source of information and a strong advocate for affordable housing at the state, local and national levels. Given the disruption of Hurricane Sandy, ensuring the provision of affordable housing is now more important than ever. We look forward to partnering with NYHC in highlighting the importance of affordable housing to community well-being and the economy.?
